Pregnancy & BABY Reflexology
New mums come to me usually for a massage or they have been Referred by another mother. I always start with Reflexology as ‘Your feet don’t lie’! True statement!
If a couple are having difficulty in conceiving, using Reflexology I can detect the area that is blocked and encourage Energy to flow. It seems far fetched that playing with someone’s feet can do that, but there has been to many instances where it has worked!
As the pregnancy progresses, I look for signs that her body is coping. For example, if the Pancreas is gritty, a sign of gestational diabetes, I can inform the patient and measures can be put in place to lower the chances.
If the Placenta is located low on the side of the womb, I can press certain areas on the her feet to spasm it up and away from the birth canal.
Some mums having their 2nd or 3rd child know to attend in the days leading up to the due date. There is a window of time when I can press on pressure points that signal hormones to begin labour. This can only be done close to the due date as ‘The Soul’ will not come through unless it is ready!
Reflexology can turn a baby if its not in the correct position. This has to be done before baby becomes too big in mums tummy.
The biggest privilege is to be witness to the birth of a new life into the World. In these cases it is possible to gently speed up dilation of the cervix, calm the mother (and the father if necessary), reducing pain, enhancing muscle relaxation for ease of delivery, and help expel the placenta once bub is born.
Aftercare is important. Reflexology around the 6 week mark can bring the uterus into shape, encourage inner healing of cells, discuss breastfeeding as reflexology can also prevent mastitis!
Reflexology for your baby will enable peace of mind and can be taught with ease.
Workshops are open to family members, partners of pregnant women, friends that wish to help friends…then after bub is born there are workshops to assist in the hurdles that face mum and bub!
Healing massage
My massage technique is a combination of lots of courses put together over the years, to form my own style.
Remedial means to me a deep tissue massage with the approach to change things that are in the wrong place. It can be tendons, ligaments, even vertebras.
With a Holistic view, any injury or condition needs to be looked at as a whole. For example, if you have a sore shoulder I would almost guarantee that the same side hip would be affected as that side of the body is connected. Like a jigsaw puzzle, one piece fits into the next piece, fits into the next piece.
I also believe fascia has a roll to play in the imbalance of our Right and Left sides.
If we are writing, typing, carrying, digging, using the dominant arm and hand, fascia can get caught up under muscles and ribs, with the result of one side looking decidedly lop sided compared to the other. Same with the hips.
With years of experience I can assess someone the moment they walk in the door.
Hairdressers, chefs, builders, plumbers, computer dudes, All benefit from regular massage.
Imagine NO MORE pain!
Workshops are available for families to learn massage to help each other.
